About SF Wildlife

My Drive

I strive to (re)connect people with the natural world by showing the beauty, diversity and stories of the wildlife that shares our most densely populated habitats with us. I consider this connection essential for the conservation and protection of species and habitats worldwide. Urban species are the perfect ambassadors to keep us aware of and caring for the global ecosystem we impact every day with our actions.

I achieve these goals by showing my images online and in print, holding talks and talking with people in the field. If you are interested in showing my work at your gallery, to book me for a talk or to employ my services as a Bay Area wildlife scout, feel free to get in touch!

My process

Urban wildlife photography is a craft and genre in itself that offers some unique challenges and opportunities. This interview and feature by Mother Nature Network on my work gives a great overview of my process, ethics and drive.

My Story (A very brief summary)

Growing up I wanted to be a biologist. Or a comedian. Or a wildlife photographer.

I had a stab at the former two, became a web designer and then naturally gravitated towards the latter.

In addition to photographing wildlife. I'm a professional wedding, event and portrait photographer. Check out Under the Fog Photography to see my non-wildlife work.
